The Machine Shop is home to the Colorado Springs
outpost of AIGA Colorado.
WHAT IS AIGA?
AIGA, the professional association for design, is committed to advancing design as a professional craft, strategic advantage and vital cultural force. As the largest community of design advocates, we bring together, enthusiasts, and patrons to amplify the voice of design and create the vision for a collective future. We define global standards and ethical practices, guide design education, enhance professional development, and make powerful tools and resources accessible to all.
Colorado is one of the few (awesome!) state chapters of AIGA, which means they are geared towards developing design communities all over the state. We get the best of both worlds — a growing local community with events in our backyard, as well as larger events and classes up in Denver.
SHOP TALK SPEAKER SERIES
Next Talk: Cast Iron Design – May 16th, 2017
Our ShopTalk event series is a lot of fun. We bring in interesting, dynamic speakers on all ranges of design-related topics to inspire and educate. These are held several times a year, and our next speaker is Cast Iron Design.
DRINK & DRAW
Next Event: May 9, 2017
Drink and Draw is exactly what it sounds like: a free event where we gather at the Principal’s Office at Ivywild, drink, and draw! No advanced drawing skills or design background required – if you can draw stick figures, this is your jam. It’s simply a fun evening to hang out with fun people and enjoy delicious Bristol beer. Every second Tuesday of the month, you’ll find us there.
